    1. Access the HTML source code of yoursite
    2. Create a separate page on the site and paste the snippet:

<p>This post confirms my ownership of the site and that this site adheres to Google AdSense program policies and Terms and Conditions: ca-pub-62643979879080776 </p>

    3. Resubmit the application as described below after replacing yoursitedotcom in the 'Website URL' with the URL of the page on which you have pasted the snippet.

SSH into your site, I assume you can do this easily.
In the root directory of your site (public_html, or www, or html something like that)
    Type "vi google-validation.html"
Then press the "i" key once
Then paste in the data they have told you to do "<p>This post confirms my ownership of the site and that this site adheres to Google AdSense program policies and Terms and Conditions: ca-pub-62643979879080776 </p>"
Then press Escape ":wq" and press enter

You then paste in yourdomain.com/google-validation.html where they ask you to.

You are getting that message because they are not accepting your website, not because you did the verification wrong

Yes you need a domain and hosting. Are you using a free wordpress blog?

I believe they will accept a free blogger site but not a free wordpress site so you would need domain and hosting

Go to template editor and put it in the footer or header,or where you want.
Or add a text widget and paste it in the widget, make sure the widget is enabled on front page.

    Good luck with getting approved!

can you copy/paste the exact thing they asked? It would clear things for us.I guess you should paste the code on some part of site to get verified.Ask in adsense forums for further clarification
