google says that this is impossible. Reality shows that IT IS POSSIBLE at least for short-term. But I would stay away from such things, if we start to outrank each others on that way, that will become endless war :)
 
Google is very aware of negative SEO campaigns and they are building a strategy to counter these campaigns. Better to spend your time, energy and dollars on adding to your own site but to each their own.
 
Exactly. Plus, you can never fully "hide your ass", you if you do negative SEO, you should rather stay away from any serious website!
