I’ve got a client who is being attacked by a competitor with one main page that disparages their dental practice. They’re high quality dentists and above board on everything, but the court case is gonna take a while to get figured out. In the meantime, what is the most effective way to get the competitor’s page taken down?

I think you need to figure out yourself because discussions on negative SEO is not allowed on the forum. We don't allow planning of how to take down another person's website.

does that page show up when you search for your client's name or it shows up for your city+dentist keyword? which keyword are you worried about?

if it is the first one, you can create other pages for your client's name and push the negative page to second page of google. create profile pages for your client's name on these sites. these usually end up showing up in the first page when you search for a person's name.
