Negative SEO on a new site

I have a new site (about 3 months old), and I'm starting to rank high for some nice money keywords. I must have pissed off my main competitor because now I'm getting link blasts to my highest ranking money keyword.

When I say link blasts I mean shitty GSA spam packages that you would find on fiverr. Thousands of social signals and tens of thousands of web 2.0 profiles, wikis, social bookmarks, etc.

I would never stoop so low as to try negative SEO on this douchebag, but what can I do? As I mentioned this site is new and it's backlink profile isn't that great yet. It's too early to tell if any damage has been done.

I had a competitor do this to a new site as well, about 4-6 months in. While I don't think it affected me (apart from 1 day where all rankings were down), barely any new links were made to the site. Just a handful of social profiles and forum posts in the niche.

Anyway, it wasn't long before this fucking wanker decided to start blasting exact anchor texts and completely obliterated days (collectively) of my time, and it continues on with a few new links being picked up every single day by ahrefs.

My advice is to just disavow as you can find, and build quality links to help counter anything negative you might experience.

Also, I created a few pretty strong PBN links which have moved the keywords he was trying to over-optimize my site for to position 3-5 (dancing atm), and the blast has stopped. Hes probably shitting his pants thinking he helped me while I have disavowed his links as well as built legit links, on top of super high TF40+ PBN domains that I own specifically for this site.

How about diluting my anchor text profile with more links? Seems like it would be less work than cleaning up the mess that they made for me.
 
Do as xplosiv suggested, Disavow the links and build quality links. Do whats best and not what is 'less work' ;)

Yes that will work too. But still, sooner or later google will catch up and penalize your site for having those shitty links. One of my friend got negative seo and serp went down like hell. Disavowing them before the penalty somehow notifying google that you didn't build those links.
 
BOOM. This is why personally I am not interested in anything long term. I truly just want to Churn and Burn
 
Disavow the bad links. Try get as many removed as possible ( I know it can be near impossible sometimes). Then try build quality links to your site with alternative anchors & raw URL to dilute the anchor text profile.
 
Google isn't dumb, if you follow correct protocol and build cleanly long enough after disavowing you have good odds of recovery... but is it worth working/waiting months for that hope?

Your mistake was letting your website start to rank for competitive niche terms before you properly aged it and added authority. Negative SEO essentially only works on sites with low authority. If you start over be sure to age your site and gain some authority before popping up on radar.
 
Ah I suggest do not go with Negative SEO better would be work more harder and try to check on what your competito is good.
 
Thanks for all the tips here! I've done a bunch of searching around and it looks like one of the manufacturers of the niche I'm serving is spamming all of the pages that link to their site in an effort to power up their links. Mine, and a bunch of other blogs that link to their site (same anchor text, same urls linked from, etc.) I may have some luck asking the company to get their SEO to remove the links... Maybe.
 
Also send them a nasty email saying that they wasted your time having to clean that shit up! Not cool to have someone try to blast your site when you are promoting their product. In fact, I would threaten to remove the page if they don't give you a list of the URLs they spammed so you can plug it straight in to your disavow.
 
Or it could sound like you are the one trying to do the Neg Seo.
