Negative SEO? Noob question

A new client of mine had slander posted about him on an Authority site. I have contacted the website & they want $5,000 to remove it. How would you deal with this? Any BH removal tools?

Approach a layer and send a letter to that webmaster saying "Some one posted an article about my client and its invasion of his privacy, i ask you to remove that if not i deal legally" bla bla bla something like this. Hope it helps.

So your client did post about him and not about you ?

Report it to the admins? Great lawyer idea. Another film production house posted some nasty things about my client.

I know you can get individual pages of an authority site deindexed if the links you build to it are shitty enough.

I recently worked on a PR7 education authority site that had individual pages deindexed from a horrific link building campaign by a previous consultant.

I guess you could look at negative SEO if all other methods don't work, depends upon how your morals are feeling?

I've personally never done it myself, though I have been on the receiving end from competitors, what holds me back is that I never know who has done it and would hate to ruin an innocent persons income.
