Negative SEO. How to deal with it?

How do you deal with negative seo attacks?
is disavowing the only thing I can do?

Some told me disavowing works after a few months only. (google may take a few months to take the disavow file into consideration)

It depends on what kind of negative SEO. Usually I would not do anything.

what about when some "good competitors" added backlinks that redirects to porn?

Did your rankings tank as a direct result of it if yes then disavow them, if not don’t do anything, you can even add strong pbns to balance it out and see if you’re able to get back your rankings or go for guest posts and pbns for a more effective solution

Keep monitoring your backlink profile, If it harms your site then disavow it. Keep improving quality of your site by adding unique content and quality links, so it makes little easier to overcome the negative effects.

Dont do anything. Google recognizes these attacks and most likely your rankings wont suffer. Use the disavow tool as the last resort if other options fail.

Disavow tool is not 100% safe to use.

Disavow does work (used it many times myself) but doing nothing will often be fine too. Personally, I take it as a compliment - if a competitor has to resort to negative SEO it usually means they're running out of ideas!

Keep up with the content, keep your links squeaky clean (they are likely looking for a reason to report you to Google) and enjoy the fact you're really annoying someone who's less skilled than you are!

Can I know how it recognize? On which factor it will take for consideration? Does this apply for every negative SEO?
