Negative SEO for a single page?

Is it possible to do negative SEO for a single page on a site, or would it result in the entire site getting blacklisted?

I have a new client who has a critical blogger outranking him for his brand name, I've told him that of course I can get him number one spot for his brand name but he wants this negative review off page one completely.

I have a number of sites myself & I believe in karma, so I am not willing to do anything that would hurt the blogger's whole site, but I would be ok with just getting the one post deindexed if that is possible.

I don't think so that its a better idea. It might be hurt your whole site. Well many SEO professionals here and i hope you will get better solution.

I know what I'm doing with SEO, but I've never got into negative SEO as I generally don't believe in it. I would like I said be willing to get one page of someone's site deindexed, but I not if it will damage their whole site - which I think it probably would.

neg seo is controversial... doing neg seo for your customers even more so.

however, in some cases it is warranted as the system can be abused both ways.
