I didn't actually think it was that effective, welcome to the wild west...

How can anyone possibly think NSEO is not effective? You build shit links to your own site, it gets whacked by Google. So obviously if you build the same shit links to someone's site, the same thing happens. It is not even hard to make another site disappear off Google, in fact it is very very easy.

It is however it's very unethical. I know you don't promote or like neg. SEO I'm just pointing out the fact that it's not a good practice and unfortunately I believe neg. SEO is just going to get bigger and bigger. Eventually, people will be investing into neg. SEO for competitor sites instead of SEO for their own. The "Big G" has a lot on their plate to handle that's for sure.

I have only ever NSEO'ed things which needed to be NSEO'ed, like none monetized web2 and and crap which is in the way. I would not NEG a site unless I had my own sites done over, and it was obvious who had done it.

If i put some links on a porn site to a competitor website , that website can get penalized ?

No you have to know what you are doing, so when you put links from porn sites to your competitor, who obviously knows more than you, as he out ranks you. Chances are when he realises what you have done, he will make your site vanish from Google. NSEO is not the way forward.

I also faced it rarely.comment spam and its with the exact keyword as anchor text too.Its just made my site thrown out of SERP. Still most of the time my NSEO links were no-follow,then how come G bot crawled it !!

Wow, moz admitting that NSEO exists, what is the world coming to?

It is however it's very unethical.

When's the last time ethics paid your bills?

When it comes to money, which it all boils down to, ethics fly out the window pretty fast. And if tyour competitors find dirty to gain an advantage over you, then you either do the same or find yourself out of business faster than you can say bankrupt. This is the reality we live in.
