hi i have a question. i was scammed for $2000 (buyer did a bank chargeback), and now i have a negative $2000 balance. is paypal allowed to automatically take the money out of my bank/debit/credit card?

Thanks

if you got it attached for them to use yes .

if you remove it then they can not take nothink out by law .

quiston.

where the 2k that the user gave you ?

why did the user want a full refund?

why do you think it a scam ?

warning .

becouse paypal are a offical bank and got there own rules and private solictors and a fraud protection department, just becouse you got 0 in your account does not mean there not going to chase you with bailifs for the cash , you will get phone calls and letters from paypal and eventually a bailif to take anythink in your home to the value of owed , be warned mate .

No, PayPal won't do that without your consent. However, since it's quite a huge amount of money, what they *might* do is to transfer your debt to a collection agency.

Probably not but just to be safe i would remove my bank and card. And try to get a hold of someone at paypal and for a job that size you should start looking into contracts and buyer id

basically this is what happened. I sold 2 brand new iphones to someone i met on facebook. they paid through echeck and it took a few days to clear. once it cleared, i shipped. the buyer never talked to me ever again

it seems like he did the chargeback straight through his bank and said he didnt authorize the echeck.

also to add on to this, i cannot remove my bank from my account. im just afraid they are going to try and charge my bank or one of my cards the $2000 which is unfair.

You shipped $2,000 worth of goods a stranger on Facebook without a tracking number? Sorry to be harsh but that was pretty dumb on your part. Take it as a lesson learned.

Paypal will attempt to debit the balance from your bank account (multiple times) and even if you removed that $2k from the account, you'll get hit with fees from your bank (multiple times). If you don't pay the amount, Paypal will close your account and you'll have to deal with a collection agency harassing you for the sum owed.

i thought its impossible to chargeback from a bank if you did the transfer.

but you can dispute at paypal

So if I had given a tracking number, I would have won the case 100%? I thought since it was a chargeback, even if it was delivered the buyer can say they never made that purchase

These things happen which is why Paypal has seller protection. The handful of times I've experienced this, I've been reimbursed 100%. The buyer always has the option to dispute, and I don't know if Paypal takes the loss or passes it back to the customer, but having proof that you sent the item is the best evidence you can provide to cover any potential loss.

here the problem..... if your paypal already showing negative balance it mean money had already given back to buyer's bank account. if money was still with paypal at least paypal will mediate and fight for the money.... but since your account already showing negative balance it meaning too late. so no matter what you doing you are in disadvantages. sorry..... all i can say is remove card.... but they will still sending debt collector...... you can try not paying it but if debt collector come knocking on your door you still lose and having to pay and your credit score (not sure where you living so you may or may no having this) will be affect

PayPal owes money from him so they have the right to charge his bank account.
Bullshit
PayPal firstly needs to win in court, of course in Europe. I have $3000 debt and I said them "fck off, let's meet in court" and they silenced. If they sue me, I am going to win it because in Europe, payment processor is not a side, any refunds should be judged by court between customer and seller, payment processor cannot decide.
Also payment processor needs to inform in 14 days that customer made a chargeback, PayPal sent only "unauthorized account usage", so they are lost.
They can send debt collectors when they want but they have no power here, only court can allow them to use real collector with power to charge bank account, after many months or years fighting.

hi
without accepting this refund from you it's never refund a period of time .. so please contact support and prove them why you get this money, why buyer refund, if you can well be said this fund never will refund .. negative not showing that the money already is gone.. it's must under review .. so please submit all necessary document to paypal to cancel this refund ..
thanks

Paypal will attempt to debit your card multiple times, if it fails too many times then they'll close your account and refer the debt to a debt collection agency.

They ain't gonna do shit bro as long as you are not a US citizen or something like that.
Depending on the laws of your country and connections with PP. Most likely they won't do shit about it.
Just close your CC and leave it.

No, they'll pass that to debt collector which will want to recover the money from you. Depends from country to country, but for $2000 they'll go for it.

It works only in USA ;)
In Europe, in my country it's arvato debt collector, I said him "fck off". Debts collectors instead courts and goverment's executioner haven't any rights here.
