How does one get a negative article removed from a newspaper? I never thought it was possible to do without a lot of money or a hook. I found and used a company to remove the article and now after a week or so they actually did it. The article is down and de-indexed. They were paid after it was de-indexed as in the contract. They said they made a contract with the papers so are able to guarantee the article won't be ever be republished. I'm wondering how they did it? Any ideas?

Article info: Man arrested 5 years ago and made all big papers for the arrest. Charges were dropped but papers left as is.

If it's already published and reached the masses, it's worthless to de-index it. Maybe cover it up with another article like "Accused person found not guilty". That would help with some sympathy and positive articles burying down the negative ones.

It was actually brought down then a few days later de-indexed. Guy moved and is starting fresh. Also has a positive ORM campaign at same time.

Are you able to give me a clue as to which company you used? Or the search used to find them? Much appreciated.

If the guy was found not guilty, or charges were dropped it could fall under defamation which is illegal (civil damages).
