I read a post this morning that I found to be quite useful. The person posting the thread was sharing with good intentions and had obviously gone to some trouble to create the post.

Several other people posted that they also found it useful. HOWEVER...
there were 3 or 4 people posting in that thread that posted negative and nasty comments about lameness and such, when they simply could have moved on to the next thread. There is absolutely no need to slam someone when they're trying to be helpful, particularly in a public thread where everyone can read your comments.

I know that I'm a newb here, and certainly not a mod, but there is no need for such shitty and uncalled for behaviour. If you have criticisms, offer them up in a good way that will perhaps help people to learn instead of making them feel like dirt for doing a good deed.

    Just my .02.

    Peace

hmm..sorry but I find your post completely useless. I don't think most of us welcome self-pity here.

Someone pisses you, take it like a man, and walk on.

See what I mean? You just demonstrated my point perfectly. Thank you for doing that =)

It was not my post that got slammed, it was someone elses. And the OP did not show any signs of self pity.

I'm talking about bad behaviour. There's no need for it. Why shit on someone for posting something that they, and others find useful? If you don't like it, move on rather than flame.

and for your information, I'm not a man!:D

I completely agree with you. I hate those kind of people. Once I helped people by explaining an technical stuff and got alot people saying what I was saying was bullshit and pming me asking me to give them everything already made without even being nice or saying thanks.
However, I think we shouldn't concentrate on them, they will probably understand one day the spirit here.

Thanks zozor! I definitely don't waste energy or focus on those types of people...at least not for long:), but the people who flame like that are not helping anyone to do what we're all here for...LEARN and SHARE.

If someone pee's in your bowl of cornflakes, you don't have to make everyone else pay for it right??? :smashfrea

@Harro..I know, but I hate to do that.

I always chalk it up to the whole "I'm soooo superior" attitude. People like to show how knowledgeable they are at things. So, regardless to if the information is found to be useful by people who have been on this forum for an hour... they feel the need to tell you that you're stupid to prove how smart they are.*

*Note that these are usually the same people on MMO's that spend hours training solely in PvP, harass you to fight them, and then berate you when you decline. "You're just scared, noob! look at the noob! we don't like noobs round here! hyuk hyuk!!!!"

**Also note that these are the people who, in real life, will drop their head if you try to look them in the eye, leave the room if someone of the opposite sex comes in, and avoids confrontation at all costs. Note how they play their loud angry music in the car (they turn it down at stops) and dream that they're the lead character in "Wanted".

So they hide behind their comp screens and take it out on "noobs", because this is the only place they can be both passive AND aggressive. You can't slap them through your flatscreen, and they can say whatever they please.

Revel in the fact that in real life, they're stupid, scared and lonely.

    mnapper, agreed!
You best solution is to simply ignore the negative posters albeit, they are rampant!
