Well I say attempt because it's not working right now. My traffic is still stable even after ~50-100 spammy viagra links.

What should I do now? Disavow the links, or are there any other options?

The weird thing is ahrefs says on those spammy links there also links to my site, but when I check manually or with scrapebox Link Checker I can't find any connection back to my site?

Your rankings are stable, for NOW. The damage in SERPs could take a while to show up. Perhaps you could proactively disavow, personally I've never used the tool and have refused to use it up until now. I can't say what I'd do in your position.

Shame Google created this mess where this is now possible.

If you can't find the links on the site HTML they may be hacked links (PHP exploits or similar)

30 is not too bad.

But... Disavow NOW - because if you wait to get a penalty notice then a simple disavow will not be sufficient - Google will expect you to contact every webmaster for manual removal... and do it more than once.

Disavow....

Scritty

Yes - I've done a 180 on disavow, because of the sheer number of negative SEO services doing the rounds. It's a clusterfuck, it shouldn't be required - Google should be held accountable for encouraging spam with negative SEO (which could be translated as "Spam For Cash") But that's the world we live in.
Good luck.

Have you done this to avert a penalty request first hand? I've only heard anecdotal reports from some webmasters claiming recovery. Proactive disavow and backlink monitoring is something that's rarely discussed. I suppose it would allow you to cover your ass in case you do get a penalty notification down the line.

However, if I were Kralj187 I'd be somewhat worried to submit a disavow especially if my backlink profile was unnatural to begin with. That would be my dilemma.

I've got a site with tons of forum profiles, PHPLD low quality directories, basically every kind of backlink you're not supposed to have. I got a light slap from Penguin 2.0, and survived the other updates quite well.

If I woke up to a flood of viagra anchored backlinks to my site, I would hesitate to proactively disavow with the fear of bringing attention to my already not-so-white-hat link profile. Any thoughts on this issue?

I Personally feel wait for update. if you start doing disavow to your links then your traffic will decrease and you can face early SERP fallout. so, better stay back and enjoy the traffic you are getting from these links.
