Neg Repping Just because shouldent Be allowed!

I have been negg repped 4 times for no other reason then someone wanted to be a douche, however that just make it hard for a noob like me to conduct business.

Nobody will trust me, nobody will want to do business with me etc etc.


Say for instance I wanted their is a great JV opportunity I will be great for but my neg rep will probably cause me not to be able to participate, etc etc.

How is neg repp supposed to be used, I dont think just cause someone wanted to be a douche or funny I should be negged repped and make a noob starting out have to learn IM but jump obstacles aswell.

PS: I am only is the positive because of GST being generous for saying something in his thread, had he didnt I would still be in the negative 20 or something.

I agree dude, it does happen a lot and has happened to me and I did absolutely nothing. Have you tried talking to mods to see if they can remove them?
 
No offence, but there must be reason they neg rep you, maybe your posts or threads. You have to figure it out that reasons.
 
What is the reason of the neg rep? Visit your profile and see the reason.

If no reason, I think mods need make the reason required for neg rep.

If we see the reason of neg rep, I think it will improve the person and he/she will never do the same mistakes again.

It has happened to me one time, because they did not agree with what I said. I did nothing, I just posted my opinion on something and received neg rep. Did not scam anyone or do anything that would deserve a negative, but received one anyways. Not a big deal to me, so I did not worry about it, but it does happen for stupid crap.
 
My guess is because you annoyed someone with your post, asking for jr vip when you do not qualify. But its just a guess, and it wasn't me.

one I got for helping someone speed up his site, and the others were from the gst thread where he was giving away jr vip so I asked it I can have it.


none for anything negative, I just got it just because. Imagine how much this happens to noobs and a neg rep is all you have online pretty much and have a negative rep will pretty much hinder a noob success here
 
I once got neg rep when I gave conversions of something, made no sense at all.

Shit does happen. I agree with saber210 that for person who want to give neg rep should provide a reason. Reason is not optional, but required.

well the funny thing is I did ask for jr vip but then retracted my request when I realized I didnt even qualify (new here) but the people still negged repped me way after my post where I retracted my request. I say they were just being mean spirited and just wanted to be douches.

Seriously? Another one of these. I feel like people have found the black hat way of getting rep in Summer 2013. Create a thread bitching about being neg repped = getting positive repped by every sympathic/giving member of the forum. I have been neg repped recently, too. Reputation points do not attribute to the members quality.
 
Then rep system should just be removed all it does is lead to abuse by people with ego issues and people that can't do a simple forum search or read between the lines.
 
I too being neg rep before for posting my views. :) Do not take it too personal just because others do not like your opinion.
 
@OP, You know, No BHW member will give negative rep for no reason.. If someone loss his rep point's then he must did something wrong here - either not following forum rules or something related..

So, Neg rep is to keep the forum clean.. I'm not pointing you here.. In general, if one receive neg rep from someone for some reason, then they need to realize their mistake & rectify it to get +ve rep's.

It works both ways. You can write a thread and not deserve to be neg repped and you can write a pointless thread about being neg repped and get lots of undeserved rep.
 
When leaving neg rep, you must give a reason. We are entitled to give good and bad rep (neg rep can only be issued my JR.VIP/Donor, that was added to reduce the neg rep abuse). As stated many times before, people dont get neg repped for NO reason at all, most of the time its because people dont have the right etiquette and ask or say the most ridiculous/immature things that dont fit in with what this community stands for.

Rep is a community tool and despite a couple of miss givings, it is a helpful tool to have.
