Domain name: Namesilo offers the cheapest price on domain names.
Web Hosting: A shared web hosting will be enough considering you are just started. Hostwinds & host-stage.net will be good. Namecheap also offers web hosting plan and its pretty good.

You can get value shared hosting in just $9 for first year. https://www.namecheap.com/hosting/shared.aspx

Wow, thank You. I saw your recommendation on Namecheap and knew, you must know what you're talking. The namecheap hosting plan is one of the cheapest and better than most.

However, i think it would be great if he goes for the 0.99 coupon on Godaddy, as a first timer.

    Goodluck to OP.

First make a plan for your new domain name and what is the purpose for? Focus on these plan and buy the website hosting.

There are many domain registrar here and I do prefer ipage which has the low web hosting cost. Its all more convenient for the new website builders.

Make use of it. Best of luck.

I'd be careful with "super cheap hosting" While all are not bad, many are prone to security issues and down time. You'll be able to find coupon codes, new customer discounts for premium hosts like Hostgator, Arvixe, Dreamhost, Bluehost etc etc - which will provide a more reliable solution.

Go with $.99 domains on GoDaddy. There are a lot of GoDaddy domain coupons online.

For hosting, go with Bluehost or Namecheap is also a good try for beginners.

Or last option, you can buy a domain name and hosting package on iPage for only $10-$12 for one year. That includes Unlimited disk space & email addresses, FREE domain registration, FREE security suite, FREE site-building tools (WordPress, Weebly, and more), FREE online store, FREE search engines & marketing credits, 30-day money-back guarantee (I just copied this from their website). You can try this one, but don't expect the best. :D

Hosting. All depends on your blog. Make sure you look at the options they have once you grow. That's what matters most, you don't want a host that doesn't scale easily with your traffic and charges you an arm and leg for dedicated servers once you need them. Name.com for domain names is my choice.
