NEEDED: free mass sms messaging program

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I am looking for a free mass sms messaging program. I want to be able to upload all of my clients cell numbers into a program and send them all a text at the same time. I usually have all their numbers in an excel sheet.

You wouldn't happen to know their carriers would you? Almost all carriers have something like [10 digit number](at)carriername(dot)com, which enables email to SMS, which is how all those "send free sms from computer" sites work. Though I recently stumbled on a site that didn't require the carrier so I'm going to look into it farther because premium SMS is a avenue I want to try out with a couple of ideas.

How many people are you wanting to SMS a month? I know you don't want to pay but I found a website that will do bulk (and allow upload) for relatively cheap (5k at $59 a month). I know that you asked for free, and if your still wanting to do that, than you'll need to develop your own gateway (You could use Kannel, its opensource) which you'll probably need extensive C knowledge of just to get it setup, or you could do a link from PC to Mobile and use the mobile as a GSM box. Microsoft created a program which allows you to send SMS from your Windows PC through your Windows phone.

You could always, upload all the contact details into your Gmail account & use the Gmail free (my favorite word!) SMS text function to mass distribute your messages.

I'm only looking to SMS about 15-30 people a day. I do not know the carriers. I'll check out the Gmail suggestion. I was using yahoo messenger, but it only allows you to sent to one phone# at a time. How many does Gmail allow??

Check out twilio, its pretty simple to use and sms is pretty cheap.

With G*mail I haven't noticed the ability to text directly WITHOUT the carrier number. I think he may be meaning Go*ogle V*oice, which you can do, but only one at a time.

I need this program also.

If you have a windows OS mobile and desktop system, than google the following "How to Use a Windows PC to Send and Receive SMS Messages" and it'll show you how you can setup a connection using the two devices to send SMS.

I have the #'s. I just don't know who the carriers are.

I could be missing something, but it seems to me that you can only upload one contact at a time with Gmail. I need to upload 15-30 at a time.

You can use Gmail Send Text Messages To Multiple Recipients Software

To be honest where I need to send mass SMS I use gateways such as Clickatell or BulkSMS. Yes they cost a couple of pennies per text, but its guaranteed delivery, full delivery reports and comes with an API that works extremely well.

I even wrapped it all up in windows app (using Ubot) to make it easy enough for anyone to use!

If you want free, I always feel that there is no guarantee that the text will get there - unfortunately I don't have a Google Voice account as I am not in the US, but I guess that would be easy enough to automate as well.

Might proxy up and grab an account to see what happens!

Is Clickatell and BulkSMS like Twillio or is it different?
