hello

let's say I have 2 sites. I 301 redirect one to the other for the purpose of link juice. I see no increase in rankings and no increase in traffic.

If I cancel the 301 redirect, will I end up in the same place that I was before I did anything? or will I end up in a worse position? In other words, does this 301 redirect have any risks associated with it, or I can always cancel it and end up in the same place that I was before?

You can remove a redirect. What you should have done was list both domain's metricss (at least the total count of backlinks) so you'd know how much transferred if any.

301 = Permanent Redirect, it's not supposed to be an immediate solution. The domain can easily have to be renewed prior to it expiring before the majority of juice transfers. I could perhaps see Google flagging a site for a manual review if you received massive traffic for a quick 301, but you wouldn't increase the desired domain's ranking SERP wise.

another nice troll thread op. Fantastic work as always.

My British Mate strakes again!
Hahahaha when i saw who the OP of this thread is, i was 100% sure that you will jump in and post something like that!

I really cant see whats the trolling part of this thread, man. :L

royserpa, the OP is opening too many threads on a weekly basis asking basic SEO questions, so many that W130SN belives that the OP is spaming and trolling BHW forums.
The thing is that OP could had created one thread asking all his questions there, and i am sure a lot of people would help him better this way and W130SN and many others would not complain about the opening of so many threads by one person on every second day!

If someone ask why my english are so horrible guess what i am not from USA or from the bloody UK!
"W130SN will get this!"

The op may or not be a troll
but other members may be interested in knowing the answer

In my opinion, you need to build backlinks to the site you are redirecting
to see any effect
especially if the domain has been dropped
you also need to recapture the backlinks if the content has been removed

Put a 404 redirect plugin before you do the 301
this will put the backlinks on the main page

Hope this helps

OP, this MAY have been a genuine thread with a real question that needed answering but because of your previous actions I find it impossible to tell.

I really, really don't want to keep negging you and you should ask for help when you really need it.

The primary reason I come to BHW is to LEARN and improve my knowledge in certain areas.
I do this by READING and following those that have more experience and know how in the field I am studying.
So far, when I do have a question that needs answering, I have found the answer by READING MORE.
You have at your fingertips a terrific resource in BHW and I hope you see the potential benefits to you, it would be a shame not to maximise it.

Eventually, other people will notice the amount of threads you start and never return to and they will lose their patience.

May I suggest you start a final thread entitled "Hi, I am theseodude, please answer my questions about SEO", that way you can keep ALL your many questions in one thread.

I wish you success. Good Luck
