Hi everyone,

I’m planning to start a blog but feeling a bit confused about where to begin.
  1. Theme: Which WordPress theme would you recommend? Most of my traffic comes from mobile users.
  2. Platform: I’m also considering using a subscription-based platform like Ghost — something similar to https://nio.demo.luxethemes.com/creative-hobbies-for-everyday-joy/. Do you think that’s a good idea?
  3. Alternative: Or should I build it using Next.js with a WordPress backend?
For context, I already have an active Telegram community of around 15k members from different countries, so I’m hoping to create something that fits that audience well.

Would really appreciate your suggestions on which theme or setup to go with.

Regards,

Most of your readers use phones, so start with a simple, fast WordPress theme, and later you can switch to Ghost or Next.js for more control as you grow.

Starting a blog is exciting! Focus on your niche and don’t worry about perfection. WordPress is flexible, but Medium or Wix are easier to start with. What’s your blog idea?

If you want speed and flexibility, go with WordPress. Use a clean theme like GeneratePress or Blocksy. Ghost is nice but pricey long-term, and Next.js is overkill at the start. Keep it simple and start publishing, you can upgrade later.

Also started with Blocksy, it feels way more free for my use cases (Tech Affil Blog)

Here are the answers to your doubt:

Theme : Theme does not matter when starting out.

Platforms: Word press is good to go.

Alternative : Custom design will cost a lot. If you choose this , you should have higher budget ready.

choose the best environment can explore with no difficulty in making mobile blog page, ready community traffics need manage with simple/known blog environment to suite own goal with traffics convert.

Since most of your traffic is mobile, I’d suggest going with a clean, lightweight WordPress theme like Astra or GeneratePress — both are super fast and mobile-friendly. If you want a more modern, subscription-based vibe like Ghost, that’s a solid option too, especially for community-style content. But unless you’re comfortable with coding, I’d avoid the Next.js + WordPress setup — it’s powerful but a bit overkill for a first blog. Start simple, focus on great content, and scale from there.

Good discussion. I’d also recommend using a performance plugin like WP Rocket or LiteSpeed if you go with WordPress. Combined with a lightweight theme (Astra/GeneratePress), you can easily hit 90+ on mobile Core Web Vitals.

Start a blog using wordpress, post interesting content, and build backlinks everyday.

For mobile-heavy traffic, start simple with a fast WP theme like GeneratePress or Astra. Ghost is solid if your main focus is subscriptions/newsletters. Next.js is great but overkill unless you want full custom control. With your Telegram audience, just pick the fastest setup and start publishing.

Starting with a video content platform will be better
Blogging will take a lot of work while you only give ai access to your contents

Start with WordPress using a fast, mobile-friendly theme like GeneratePress or Astra. It’s easier to manage, SEO-friendly, and perfect for your Telegram audience you can always upgrade to Ghost or Next.js later if needed.

starting with WP is the right move, especially since you already have an active community. here’s the game plan: 1. theme: go with Astra or Kadence - both are lightweight, mobile-friendly, and highly customizable. avoid bloated themes like Divi or Avada if speed is a priority (and it should be). 2. platform: forget Ghost and Next.js for now. WP is more than enough to start. Ghost is nice but expensive, and Next.js is overkill unless you’re a developer. stick with WP + a good caching ...
