Need to learn the Affiliate marketing game

So being no stranger to web design, I have made a decent living doing commercial web design but have become board recently and want a new challenge. I have friends that claim that they are making "Crazy money" (usually means different things to different people) doing affiliate marketing.

I am in the position to learn this from some of them but figured I'd go it alone and see if I can learn from others first (mainly so I don't look like a total amateur with them). If I am able to start a residual income from this type of work that will prove to me that maybe they aren't all BS'ing their stories!

So I guess with this intro... I say PLEASE don't HELP ME but Please Teach me or Guide me at the very least! I need to know what the best tools are that I won't find easy in the FAQ's (remember that half of those are either out of date or simply just bad) I have lists of Affiliate sites and memberships on most already but need some help in driving traffic and for finding the best way to go about having a long lasting and low overhead program

You need to learn basic of internet marketing and affiliate marketing, just find this on Google.

I'm a noob too and the way I'm learning is by reading a lot of posts on this forum and googling anything I want more info on. It's the only way to learn really, unless you have a lot of money already and can afford personal training.

You won't be spoon fed on this forum. Folks are helpful, but you gotta bring specific issues.

These two are by meathead1234, who's method is all about starting your site without ranking for a keyword but instead networking to other sites to gain traffic. A great way to start out without spending much money and then you can go for SEO later. I will be starting the second article shortly.

dont forget that in the end affiliate marketing is nothing more than publishing ur link of the company including ur individual tracking id.

That means u dont have to publish this link only via a website

Start beeing creative and learn from daily things how people are getting u to buy something. I prefer for publishing links E-Mailmarketing and mobile messages

If u want to make enough money for a basic income via affiliate marketing u nearly have to support ur link with such methods.
