Someboy ordered 40 items with 1 click? Seems weird.

Conversion rates doesn't "help" you...it just measures how your doing. The referral rate goes up as you sell more crap. Once you sell around 100 items, you'll be up around 7%, but the first jump is only a few sales away.

What's nice about Amazon is when you send somebody over to there, ANYTHING they buy will be credited to your account. (for 1 day - as long as the cookie lasts on their computer) A "normal" conversion rate is usually around 3% for me, and I have highly targeted niche sites.

Thanks for your help :) Really appreciate it. Yes i think the guy ordered 40 items one of a kind only. What do you mean that if i send them to Amazon? Do you mean by the Affiliate Link or by Niche? So if they buy 50 bucks worth of stuff that cash will go to my account? So even after they make a purchase and pay, i will lose the credit when they clear their cookies?

No, if they go to amazon through your affiliate link (your site) then you will get paid. What he is saying about the cookies is that once someone goes to amazon through your aff. id, it places a cookie on their computer. Meaning if they come back later that day it will still give you the referral. If they clear their cookies it won't make you lose the credit, all it means is if they go back to amazon later but not through your site then you won't get commission.

No, at the moment you make 4% of $50. Your objective is to sell more crap and get your referral rate up to 6.5 or 7%. This happens around the 100 mark.

Because Amazon is so big, people tend to buy other crap along with their original order. You make money on that too. As an example, I made money recently off of a purchase of Ben-wa balls. (Note: I don't sell sex toys) Here I am making money off of power tool niche sites and I made money off of something you stick up your ass.

I'll take it. (the money, not up the ass) :-)

might be the customer buying BULK items to get a better cheaper price. NOthing new.

Is it true most firewall/anti-spyware software does away with Amazon cookies? Would it be better to direct your visitors straight to the Amazon checkout to improve conversions?
