Are you referring to changing the MAC address in order to change the IP?
Are you using an auto poster to do it, or looking to do so manually?

You need to spoof your MAC address, learn what you can about Spoofing your MAC.... (try searching google/youtube)

Problem you'll face with that is that comcast can potentially stop you if you're running these without actually is that MAC Addys are listed in customer database.

lol...hey sandman, I am in texas, I have had comcast but now using timewarner cable...i do know how to solve your problem with motorola modem and the wireless router. so hit me up...or i will pm you. It is pretty simple.

If you're really looking to get serious with it just purchase yourself some proxies. that's really the best way to resolve this issue rather than shutting off your own internet every five minutes.
Yo i have comcast, spoofing your pc mac WILL NOT CHANGE YOUR IP.I TRIED THAT.Your ip is assigned to your modem's mac, so you have to change the mac on your modem, but guess what.......YOU CANT!!! ok so here how you do it, the first option is to download a firmware google it and hack your modem yada yada yada or if you willing to spend some money go to ebay and buy a comacast premod cable modem that's already hacked.The beauty of that is you can change ips any time, you'll get insane speeds, you don't have to worry of the 250gb monthly limit and you're anonymus, your ip isn't register in comcast and the best of all you can cancel your service and still have cable internet just make sure they don't remove the lines. HOPE THAT HELPED YOU A LITTLE

Sometimes spoofing your MAC will not work due to the nature of provisioning. This will depend on your provider. It may be better to keep your cable connection and purchase a cheap DSL or dialup account. This is what I did and it's working like a charm for posting to CL. Not sure what you are doing exactly but I hope this helps.

I've been changing Linksys's MAC address and getting a new IP for a year. It works just fine.
For Comcast as for any other cable service to my knowledge changing your MAC address forces the ISP to change the IP assigned to you.
If you have a Wifi router, change the MAC address in your router and the ISP will see it as a new hardware and change the IP.

http://tmac.technitium.com/tmac/index.html i use comcast cable to post on craigslist try this out have been using it for 5 months everyday, just remember when u change mac address unplug modem for 10 secs and then plug back in. Hope it works for u it does for me.

depending on where you are located...just unplugging won't work. sometimes you will wind up with the same ip..population of your city will dictate that....Besides changing your mac address......: at the command prompt.... ipconfig /release...unplug for about 1-24 hours...ipconfig /renew..voila..

yea alot of people i have talked to can't use this or it doesnt work for them, it does for me, when i unplug the modem, and plug it back in, i get a new ip everytime, and i change every 10 posts, about every 25 min, but your right it depends on where u are at, i am really happy it works for me --i am glad i don't have to wait 24 hrs for the ip to change-that would really suck, and i would'nt make any money-LOL

Im on comcast out in Florida. I have an RCA modem right now, but had a motorola in the past. here's how I do it, and it works everytime.
go into your router, and change the mac. I do it by hand. If you are unfamiliar with doing this, it's quite simple.
the letters and numbers in a mac run from 0-9, and a-f. when you are changing the address, leave the first field at 00 always.
change each character (not field) to the next one in the sequence. such as, if one field were say "2B", the next set in the sequence would be "3C". do this for each field (except the first), changing each individual character.
hit apply, and go to where it lets you "DHCP Release" and "DHCP Renew". release your ip, unplug the modem (not the router) for at least 30 seconds, and plug it back in.
wait a little while as your modem re-establishes connection to your isp. once all the lights are a blink, go back to your router, hit DHCP Renew, and vioala! You have a brand spankin new IP address to do with as you please.
This may or may not be what you are doing, and as said above, it may simply be a matter of your location. Though, when I lived in the city, I never had any issues. I hope this helps.
