Hello BHW,

I have a gaming portal website and I am totally new to this niche.
I know gaming niche is very competitive, right now the website is in auto pilot for content and I need site to be up and running (traffic)
I do have forum too.
What do you guys suggest ?
Gaming portal as like IGN
Let me know,
Regards!

why you did not apply for seo to get traffic after seo you do not have need to do any hard working to your gaming website

You need to narrow that question down. You're basically asking how to do everything....

you are new to the niche and you want to take on IGN. There are already so many others- what's so special about your site/content? Why should i go to you and not to them? Are you catering to a particular genre of games? Are you telling me something i won't get to know elsewhere?

Just some of the questions you must answer :) Good luck !

You should find a niche inside your niche. I have narrowed it down to just one game, and done it big. You should narrow down :)

Social media will generate more and faster traffic for gaming niche.

Rely on social media at first, since it is free promotion. The key is, of course, to deliver qualitative and unique content. Maybe you decide on a niche: indie games, mmorpgs, etc. To make like a news gaming portal dedicated only to a specific kind of gamers, and maybe later expand. Good luck!

These are all great answers here. I too believe that you must find what truly separates you from the other gaming sites out there. You want to zero in on a specific type of gamer first, then expand into other areas. If you just try to pack your site with loads of games and features, then you are trying to compete with others who have mastered this craft and probably have a decent budget toward advertising which it appears you do not in your early stages. Once you have your captured audience, take care of them no matter how small and it will grow. The goal is to satisfy smaller groups at a time, then add new games and gamers as you develop. Best of Luck!
