(need sugesstion) make money from wp theme

hi,
i've been here for a while, tri this and that but never get real success. recently i'm trying hard to build some wp theme to sell. unfortunatelly market seems doesnt like my theme.

i'm not sure why but i cant sell many theme. is selling wp theme is not good business anymore? is it saturated?

please suggest me something. now i take some writing article order just to make few money coming.

i hope my words understanable, this isnt my daily language.

Wordpress themes are always popular, go to themeforest and have a look, so sign up there and be a theme designer, if you are really kickass designer, you can definitely sell a lot!

For personal/sole designer, I don't recommend to build a personal theme site, nobody will buy from your small shop. (very few)

just be honest, i'm not sure i'm a kickass designer.
But visuality and all system ini my theme are 100% work.
some of theme are woocommerce compatible and i've been try it offline and online.

curently, i offering those theme at local forum.

If the market doesn't like your theme then find a theme that IS selling well and copy it.
Write the code from scratch and use your own images and text and it will become your copyright.

Then you can list it on themeforest and blast the themeforest link around town.
Maybe even get a themeforest affiliate account to get even more bang for your buck.
 
Hi, you can take a look at shopify themes store. There is too much competition in wordpress themes but i don't see too many good shopify themes. Or you can develop theme for ghost, it's not much used compared to wordpress but there is very low competition. Good luck.

Also I would like to review it, I am a developer myself.

Make theme that looks as one which sells well on market. Make two versions, one free, which will be simple, and premium with awesome widgets and elements. So if someone likes it he will buy premium theme. Think smart, from free version avoid elements and widgets which will be useful for every site owner.
 
If it doesn't sell, distribute it for free and sell one or two footer links.

I am not sure if that will work now, but many years back, people paid well for links in WP themes.

What do you mean creating theme for ghost?

Registered to envato yesterday, will complete personal and post my theme by today. Little bit not sure i can compete with profesional company in there.

Haha ghost is expensive as f*ck, who would want that.

Anyways, show me your work, i got a very strict eye for detail (will tell you if it's shit too lol)

You can host if yourself, just like WordPress. But it's built in node.js so you will need hosting that supports that. I like it because it's really fast, simple and beautiful.
