I've asked because audio/video production is what I do for living. Sound fx is my profession. In case you are going to make money with those trailers, in which you are going to use sound fx you get "of course for free", then you should be careful with legal issues. This involves any kind of audio that you use in your projects. It doesn't mean you can use an audio file freely just because you can download it free. Yes there are hundreds of thousands of audio files available online that's legally free. But the licenses they cover is another issue. Some licences they are affiliated with won't give you the right for even an upload to youtube. Be very carefull what content you are downloading and the licences they hold. Just a friendly advice.
I guess it really depends on what type of sound effect you want. You can find a lot of simple stuffs online for free. I used freesound and soundbible, both are excellent source.
Do you intend to make money off this? Sounds on free sound vary in their license--some will not allow commerical usage, others simply require attribution, and some have no requirements.
