Hi all,

I run a tech blog where I post cool stuff that I find from around the interwebz. Anywhooo it's 12 month old now and gets around 150 visitors per day - makes about $2-5 with adsense and is now pretty much makes 1-5 sales a day with amazon.

It converts pretty well but I'm really finding it hard to GET TRAFFIC..Thinking I need an SEO boost of some sort.
What I have done so far is create social networking sites(real ones for the site) and I post on these pretty regular as well, like other peoples stuff and reblog ect...
So I have -
Tumblr
pinterest
facebook page
weheartit
fancy
google+
twitter
youtube(no videos yet) but haz channel

These are the only links I've built to the site. I've had other sites in the past that I built links to but they ended up being penalised so I'm pretty standoffish when it comes to link building.

I'm currently ranking 13 for my main keyword, have a couple page one rankings for product names and a few more keywords that are on page 2..
The site has 390 posts all unique articles/descriptions most posts range from 200 - 350 words there is a few with 500+

What is working these days? Who has good SEO packages? What else should I be doing?
I feel like I'm doing all this work but not getting any traffic? I actually the same problem with all my sites - I can convert my traffic but find it hard to GET traffic?

Thanks in advance :D

I would focus as much as you can with getting a wider following on social media, especially twitter.
Keep an eye on newly released electronics or anything tech related and do reviews on it.
If you do youtube videos, I would make review videos, a section on things all tech related (Safe internet browsing using VPN, choosing a safe password)

I'd say kudos for getting to where you are without building any links. Sounds like you'll really get the boost you're looking for once you start. Why not begin with just some manual Web 2.0 building (by yourself, not with any service on here). The last thing you want to do is blast your site with a bunch of unnatural links and undo what you've worked a year on. I'm guess your KWs are fairly low competition, but what's the monthly search volume on them?

Thanks all for the comments :D

Yes will be building some very soon. I used to do squidoo lenses and hub pages manually but now squidoo seems to be gone. Is hubpages the main now? What other strong web2.0 sites are there?

My main keyword according to Market Samurai gets 1332 searchers per DAY... It's a two word keyword and if I search it in google in quotes there are 1450,000 results

Advertise it. You just have to leave comments on other sites saying you like their blog and and link to your blog.

Is this spammy though? I guess a few blog comments wont hurt if I do it right..

My goal is to get 5k visitors per day..personally I don't think that is to high of a goal, with 5k visitors per day I'm pretty confident the site will earn $50-100 per day. If it converts the way it is now that is...

Keep your high goals, but don't be completely convinced that you'll get that kinda conversion rate. It will probably spike and fall over time.

Yes the conversions very from month to month xmas was huge..Converted at 30% which was awesome for me.
Adsense could be better but that's probably my layout. I just need more traffic

You havent actually got real backlinks yet, you have only worked upon social signals mostly.

Yes, there is a good reason though. My last sites(one which was making around $800 weekly) got hit with a penalty of some sort and lost all traffic and that site alone was only getting 200-400 visitors per day. All my other sites died as well. All I mainly done was article submissions, web2.0, and blog comments. Worst thing I probably did was get some fiverr gigs for backlinks?

I'm no good at SEO or bringing in traffic but my sites obviously convert pretty well. I'm currently building a second site to do some testing on for backlinks anyways.. If that works for that site for a few months then I will do the same to my main site that I'm mostly working on now...I really don't want a penalty of any kind after 12 months of work.

Done some more work on my social networking pages and my main keyword has moved to #11. Very close...

Honestly that is pretty bad are these articles unique? You need to focus on keyword optimized content. Usually the best practice is to name article keyword and keep the keyword or phrase 1% of the article. This will rank you naturally without links I do this on a Bitcoin blog at the moment it has 28 articles and is 3 weeks old and gets 108 visitors a day. That is why I believe you are in real trouble if all of those articles are unique content which you state they are.

Some people believe "links links links" but the truth is keyword optimized content > links all day long. You aren't going to rank for "Bitcoin" with articles but u can rank for every 2-3 word key phrase in the book that way. Also this stands for any niche. Good luck.

A few raw URL authority links or PBN links are good in situations where you need more referring domains to diversify you up. Just be careful with content and don't over do it.

I would steer well clear of PBN's if you care about your site, I got an unrecoverable manual action on my site for using PBN's.

Focus on backlinking strategy this time. If you need a guide on what works this 2015, PM me. Thanks!

I can't send a PM yet due to account limitations. Can you please send me the 2015 backlink guide? Very curious to see.

Thanks!

Mix on page (1000+ articles with rich media) with good off page. If the niche is competitive, in 2-3 months you will have good results if you work hard.

All articles are unique, the problem with them though is they are pretty thin. I wouldn't really even call them articles - I call them teasers. Basically I add really cool stuff to the blog, write a teaser/description then tell them where to buy with my aff link..

Most pages are 200 - 300 words but there are a mix of 500+ word articles as well.

I'm going to be adding a review section to the blog where I will be hiring a writer to add good 500-100 words content/reviews of high tech stuff. That mixed with some videos...

Starting to get some refferal traffic from crap sites as well I just noticed like bluerobot .info and a bunch of .ru domains have started to show up?

I have been adding more content more frequently as well - 3 -5 posts per day..Instead of one or 2..
But rankings are still stuck at 11 for my main keyword.

high page rank edu / gov resource links always do the trick. Let me know if you need help :)

I need this urgently! Can you drop me a pm! I need high pr pages linking back to my site that are edu/gov. Thanks!
