I tried searching but couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for. I wrote an article targeting two similar keywords. Lets say they are "blackhat marketer" and "blackhat marketing." Now lets say my post title is Blackhat marketing: Becoming a blackhat marketer. For my slug should I repeat blackhat or will that look spammy? My options are either mysite.com/blackhat-marketing-blackhat-marketer or mysite.com/blackhat-marketing-marketer or maybe mysite.com/blackhat-marketing-becoming-marketer? I'm not sure which one is the best for SEO.
My next question is regarding slug length. I'm using the yoast seo plugin and keep getting "slug is a bit too long, try shortening it." Unfortunately, I have fairly long keywords and my slug ends up being similar in length to my first example above. Is it usually better to just deal with the long slug length or should I remove some keywords from the slug?
I'm probably over thinking this. But, I'm going to run into similar situations with several pages so I wanted to know the best way to handle it.
