I have a created a new blog and I'm planning to add some content on it. My question is: can I use readable spun content on it or should I write my own if I would like to rank my blog. Will google penalize my blog if I use spun content? Thanks in advance.

if you can write own content .. i suggest never go for spun content

It is possible to rank using spun content, but if your main purpose initially is getting ranked well, then unique content is your best solution.

if you want this blog to be one of the 100-1000 blogs that you are planning this month you can go with spun content as it's faster. If you're planning to have a higher quality blog though write your own stuff, it will be worth the time.

If you sin your content, you might rank high. However, the question is, for what kind of purpose do you want to use your blog? A decent blog with some good written
articles could also get you some money. Spun content probably not that much. ( but can be used for link building)
