Need some monetization advice.

Hello my fellow "entrepreneurs" (sounds good right?),

First, let me introduce myself since I still haven't done that yet. My name is Mike (No shit), I'm Dutch, 24 and I have started in internet marketing in Januari this year. I spent a shitload of money on ONE single course (money I need for my education ), kind of a dumb move BUT it did kickstart me into IM.

Anyways, I have learned alot from BHW allready but im still to make my first dollar$.

Today I found some great keywords (I think) I even saw someone in the top ten with only a smiley as content! this one ->


So competition is LOW. VERY low!

I'm not looking to be spoonfed but I would love some advice on how to handle this.

What can I say, Big keywords, small guy with no money.

My initial plan was starting a forum for the main keyword since that keyword is related to "forums". I could eventually monetize by using a content locker and Adsense and such... There are a few products to sell here but not a lot, although I think thiss will grow in the future. I CAN however make some how to's and videos about this to offer as download. Good idea, bad one? It allready has one big competitor with a huge forum (No not BHW )

Who will help me out here? Any advice is welcome especially SEO and monetization (Hope this isn't asking for a spoon).

Ok try to be as specific as possible without giving it away...

What is the appeal of the niche?
What is your target audience looking for?
How rare/hard-to-find is your output?
Similar, how unique is your output compared to similar offerings?

Edit: just noticed the .co extension bit - I wouldn't recommend it if you can avoid it. The newer (but generally marketed) ccTLDs - .co, .ws, .me - along with .info and to a lesser extent .biz don't do as well on domain keyword based rankings AFAIK.

It's a bit too vague to give you advice (and I'm probably not the best person to give you advice on it anyway...), but "hit the road running", get something going.

I don't know much about .co extension, but it's a good start. Check different scripts to run a forum, pay close attention to the security features (I've lost one forum as it was overcame by spam and I couldn't handle the security). Make a plan how to advertise it and stick to it leaving room for obvious changes.

Don't hesitate to use the .co Domain. I use .co for some very competitive niches (forex, finance) and they are doing good. Just don't forget to point the .co in WMT to dutch audience, as i guess you want to target google.nl...

It's a gaming niche, the audience is looking for information and tutorials.
The info is out there but it's scattered all over the place, a forum holds it al together. And there is new stuff out like every 2 - 3 weeks. + it's easy to create content that other people might want to have.

Allready own the .co, so I'll just have to work with it.

Thanks, I guess I was a little impatient =). Am hitting the road rigth now, have to fix my host first though. I created some nice errors for myself on there... contacted support.

Good to hear that it's not a huge deal, but it does feel like there's something missing right? .co? Oh and... no it's going to be all english, Holland is way to small But don't worry, I'll have someone check the spelling and grammar etc.

Your selecting a competition which is wayyyyy to high! Start with something much smaller if you want to start making $$$
