I've been finding a bunch of product related keywords in the 5k - 15k search area that'd be quite easy to rank for, keywords like "blue jackets" (just made that up).

I was thinking of creating a bunch of small sites (10-15 pages each) around these keywords, but I'm not sure about monetisation yet:

Amazon would be an obvious answer, but it wasn't converting too well for me in the past. I had much better results with Adsense, but I don't want too many sites on my Adsense account, and would prefer not to rely on it too much.

What do you think would be my best bet?

I was also thinking about creating small, niche targeted stores with dropshipping, but I have absolutely no experience in ecommerce, and it might not be worth the headaches in this small scale.

Amazon wasnt converting for ya does that mean you were ranking for those keywords but weren't able to convert?

do let me know...

I was getting clicks to Amazon, but there the conversion rate was only around 2-3%. Is that a normal conversion rate with them?

Option 1: Create your own products and sell them
Option 2: Affiliate, maybe clickbank or other big sites that offer affiliate option. You said Amazon didn't convert you can try other sites like Amazon that have affiliate enabled...

Anyway, your best option is to create your own products, or at least to sell them by yourself if you can't create them. Buy them cheap and sell them high, only like this you can profit at fullest...
