Need some input on monetizing a viral site.

Hey fellow BHW members.
I would need some tips/input on monetizing a viral site.
It is targeting a wide range of ages and mainly humor-based content.

What kind of ads would be the best here and any tips on what to promote? Gambling? Webhosts? Physical products?
Should i go for a affiliate network or promoting single sites?
Selling banner spots?
Promoting products via CB or Amazon?

I've considered adsense, but I've heard alot of people got banned for using copyrighted content. (im posting images that been around the web for a while, so original source is pretty unknown.) Could i still get in trouble for doing this?
Also signed up with CJ, but their partners commission wasn't that good IMO.

I know it's a really wide question, with small amount of background info. Just need something that guides me in the right direction.

Good question, on top of my head:
Shirts - Create a store selling humor t-shirts.
Amazon - Create articles like - top 10-WTF products - and list stuff from amazon, feature it in your sidebar.
