Need Some Help

I was able to easily rank a website for 3 weeks off one pr3 paid directory link due to extreme low comp. However, all of a sudden it is now buried in google, probably penalized.

I want to remake the site and am wondering what I should be doing to build enough links that would equal whatever amount of "link power" I got from that pr3 paid directory so i can rank again.

Will simply commenting on like 10 pr2-3 blogs provide the same boost? I am really confused on what works and what doesnt these days.

The only tested and proven method for ranking, is testing and proving.

This may sound stupid, but after years of ranking sites and having no idea what you site looks like, the niche or the top 10 sites you are going up against, any response would be a guess (at best).

Try not to think about this one site, think bigger like how do sites generally rank well in this niche, then build 10 or 100 and hammer the good site.

+1 ranking is not 1 + 1 = 2 lots of other factors involved

You should concentrate on quality content. A content that users love to read/view. And slowly build Backlinks not just backlinks but quality backlinks along-with some social following.

You will get your ranking back by this

do not use the previous domain name and try to follow panda and hummingbird.

Get a few content links from a few quality sites to see whether they'll help the rankings. Improve the site content too.
