Hey guys. I plan to write some ebooks which I will sell on DP to make profit. I would like to ask someone who has sold things on DP before how they go about managing their purchases. I have heard good things about ejunkie, can anyone else recommend this program? I would also like to know if anyone has some tips as far as selling goes on DP, I understand that people usually respond to very generic and sensationalist titles like "Underground Method to Making $1,386 a Minute!"

    Thanks in advance.

I would go for ejunkie - you can just sign up for free trial after free trial and you should have no problems if you want to be cheap, but you will need to setup your accounts each time which can take a while.

As for selling stuff read up on sales pages, the more professional it looks the more you will sell. If you got any more qs just PM ME.

I usually put a PP buy it now button with a return value either on a page or in the thread. This way people can buy 24/7 and I don't have to deal with 10 PMs per sale (super annoying).

Also offer like 3 free review copies to people with good iTrader, you'll get PMed right away a bunch so wait for a couple people that say something like "I promise to give a great review regardless of the quality" and then you've got those to get you going.

Thread title - make it like a sales pitch, sell it.

Be sure to dress up the post a bit, put all info in there and do colors /sizes etc.

E-junkie is cool, all your customers can get a instant download, some may even try to buy with $0.01 method but good point is ejunkie can easily trace that out and hence product is not delivered.

As said above, the key is getting good review from reputed member,i am talking about members with atleast 100 itraders.

What would a good price for a 25 page eBook be?

Try to make it low on the start, around 12$ or so with 2 or 3 free review copies. (Give them to reputed members >50 positive feedback.)

After that keep on increasing the price after 5 sales by 10$ or more as you wish..

Yes Pay pal is the only payment processor that is widely
accepted at DP. only use pay pal. You can send your e-book
to customers via attachment through your email address if
    you have no other solution.

I have already sold 300 copies of one of my book at DP
and the delivery of ebooks was done through attachments
    via email.

But only use pay pal as a payment processor otherwise
    your sale will be down.

    Hope this would be helpful!

    Regards
    Mudassar Anwar

I agree with the others on PP. This is all I have ever used on Dp and it works great.

Make sure that you ad any type of social proof that you can. Social proof drives so much momentum at DP.

Screenshots, proof of success with your methods, testimonials...all this will add to your credibility and make you a lot more money than without it.

    Getting paid.
I recently had a sale on DP for a $97 product. I capped it at 50 sales and sold out within around 5 days. I tried to use Google Checkout because I wanted to keep the sale separate from everything I had going on in Paypal at the time...BIG mistake.

I ended up having to switch over to PP halfway through but couldn't edit the original post with the Goog Checkout button in it. Needless to say, it got to be kind of a headache pretty fast. But I got through it.

Paypal, E-Junkie, and social proof are all great advice. When you make terms, stick to them. I had many, Many, MANY DPers try to talk me into "helping them out" by saving a copy for them until they got paid or trying to make other "special deals" with me. I'd politely turn them down each time and even though a few were very (annoyingly) persistent, in the end it was always best that I stuck to my guns, ensuring the sale was fair to everyone. Also, no matter what, I know that avoiding bickering with people in my sales thread (no matter how tempting it is to call someone an idiot) worked in my favor as well. Show your professionalism at all times.

A 25 page ebook can be worth $1,000 or less than $1 - it all depends on the information it contains. Is the info immediately actionable? Is it concise? Does it adhere to your claims? It all comes down to whether or not the information is a good value for the consumer.

DP is like every other place in the world - give your customers value and you'll be successful.

This is bad advice. If all it took was "colorful descriptions and big sized fonts" we'd all be retired after receiving our first copy of MS Paint.

Just make sure you make deals with people in a way so that they can't do refund using the paypal exploit.
