    Hey all,

I was wondering how to put the same value in all the cells in Excel . For eg: I want the value "xyz" from A1 to A100 or something. How do I do it in excel? This question might be a little silly but I am so lost

    Thanks in advance

    type it in A1
    click on the cell
click & hold on the little thingy on the right/bottom of the cell & drag it down

    lablinks is right.
But if the last digit is a number, dragging down will only increase the count.
e.x. if you have ax1 in A1, dragging will make the next cell ax2, ax3,....

Another way is to copy the content of A1, then highlight all the all other cells you want the value appear, then just paste.

    Hope this helps

type xyz in A1. When that A1 cell is selected, if you take your mouse over the big black square, the cursor changes to a black "+" sign. Then start dragging the mouse, a tooltip shows whether its raising the count by 1 or just xyz in the cells being filled.

    Simple as that. :D

    Hope that clears your confusion.
