Need Some Feedback

Hey guys, I just recently started the IM business and I had a particularly successful article on one of the websites I use. I picked a very good niche, used good keyword selection, and posted my article. It went live about a day later, and I had not received any statistics on it (views/earnings). I noticed a few typos so I edited it accordingly with just a very few minor changes. When I finally get the statistics report for the first 24 hours, It made $41.08 with 1200 views. I did 0 promotion for this article and it was my first major success. However, it has been about 5 or 6 days since then with only an extra 150-200 views and no additional earnings. I do not understand the way adsense/article/seo marketing work enough in order to figure out why there has been such a huge difference. I am still very green

Could a change of maybe 4-5 words make such a huge difference? If so, why? If not, what are some other possibilities? This is driving me mad. Any feedback/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
