Need some expert advice - How to monetise a desktop app

I have a made a desktop app that is similar to scrapebox. it scrapes keywords and does other things like checking onpage seo factors.

however i plan to give it away for free. how do i then monetise this software. i do wish to make a few thousand dollars a month from it.

i have considered things like displaying ads or affiliate links.

but i feel some expert can guide me better.

You can look for pay per install apps/toolbars. Displaying advertising on app also a good idea.

Yoh can see what other succesful aps are doing. So install utorrent and others on your pc and use them for a couple of days.

However, as your app is geared towards a professional jse, you are better of selling it outright. Because you can.t expect millions of install like for an app used by consumers (utorrent).

So you need to take the scrapebox and followliker approach of selling licences. You will be better of this way.

I have seen some tools advertise using adsense etc.
