Too big a question to answer fully in a reply to your question. Look through the content on here and choose a method that you will actually commit to do, however the first thing I would do if I was you (and it is the easiest) is to write new content for your site, post them to bookmarking sites like Digg, Delicious, etc and then tweet those links.

Hardly advanced as anyone will tell you on here but you have to start somewhere.
