Hey to all.. I have been working on this method to propose web design/seo services for dental clients in my local area. The problem is I have been calling non stop day in and day out and I have not at least gained one lead towards a prospective client. I have a great web site set up.. I do leave my phone # and web site info,, but I dont get any call backs?? If anyone is familiar with this method and has some experience gaining leads... pleassssssseeeeee PM so we can exchange ideas on what's working and what is not.

You could try sending professional looking letters to them, i think that may work better than cold calling.

first build a website for the first customer on the list, then just get him to see it- it will be much easier to sell when he sees it. If he doesn't buy, change the logo to the next dentist on the list and do the same. until you sell it. then make a different website and repeat the process. i'm sure your success rates would be higher this way

Run ads on facebook but just target the local dentist offices fanpage you are trying to get as clients. You can make a specific ad for each office. Say something catchy in it to get their attention. Like "Hey blah blah blah I am the guy that keeps calling you, check out my site." You can set a landing page for each one. It will get their attention. You can also run ads on linkedin too for the same purpose.

Have you considered showing up in person with a small presentation for the person in charge of the practice? Some direct contact may help boost some sales and get word of mouth rolling for you. Just my two cents.

Wanted to suggest this too.If you're saying local, you should give it a try. Also most of the offline marketers, doesn't know about the seo and all the other stuff. You can research a little for some keywords, maybe take some screen shots in google adwords tool, tell them about the visitors that may come from google , you can tell them about youtube, do a little research on the online competition, in other words don't stick "i called them, and that's it". You can start with a low price, and add different small charges for weekly maintenance, or anything else.People are more willing to pay a big amount of $ in small quantities than the same amount in one batch.

This is the best option. Make that sales copy in the letter show them in very simple, professional language how you'll bring them more business via the web. Do *NOT* use words like SEO or other technical jargon that will make your prospective client's eyes glaze over in boredom... if that happens, they'll throw away the letter without reading the rest.

I agree with that.. that is my whole approach to gaining clients. To not over do it with technical jargon and make things as simple as possible for them.

Doctors in general are a tough maret to crack. They literally get your exact message 5 to 10 times per day every day. You need to stand out and be different. It's different than selling web services to plumber or a restaurant.

If you want to get doctor clients, you have to be willing to meet with them in person or do something different to get their attention. For example, we're dropping $5k in trade shows this month for that exact reason.

Here's another way to get in without knowing anyone. Don't wait for the dentist to sign with you. Build and rank the site and then sell them a system that's already working to them. When you have the business, you have the power in that relationship.

Most of what we do is real life networking in meetings where doctors attend. We speak at the events and are connected (because we set it up intentionally) with a number of doctor publications.

However, one thing we've done is look at their site and see what they need. If they have no social media for instance, go to fiverr to have someone create a FB fan page and plug in some likes. Then when you send an email or cold call, it's not just "we are an SEO/web design company blah blah blah". It's "here I noticed you didn't have this and I thought it could really help your business". "Can I have 5 minutes of your time to show you what else I can do for you?"

When you do that, you're invoking a powerful psychological trigger called "reciprocity". In simple terms, because you've done something for them first, they'll feel obligated to you in a certain sense. It's classic Cialdini. Especially because even though it took no time from your schedule, it seems like you've already done a lot for them. Most of these doctors are pitched with a fan page with a few hundred likes as a $2000/month service or more so you immediately 'stand out'.

Of course, there are a zillion things you could do for their website that they don't already have. The point is to give them something of value before you even move into the pitch. By doing that, you're immediately different and most of them will hear what you have to say.

From there, I've followed up with post cards and more stuff free if I need to. We're pretty specific with which doctors we target so it's not a "numbers game" like you hear. Target carefully.

Hit me up by PM if you have questions on how to do it.
