Folks~

Need some advice here.

I want to buy a Blackberry Bold; I've found some really
cheap sources here online, but for some reason these
sources refuse to use paypal for transactions.

They are insisting on using Western Union.

However, Western Union has no buyer protection like
Paypal, so I'm worried that I can't do anything if I get
scammed.

Thing is, if this thing is real, I plan to import these mobile
devices in bulk and earn like 100% per sale here in my country.

So I reckon the risk is worthwhile, and am contemplating
taking the plunge..

Does anyone here..

1) Have reliable sources of exporters like these?
2) Have any advice with regards to these sorts of exporters,
like what to look out for, how to minimize risk, etc?

Thanks guys!

from what i've heard, one should never use
wu for their transactions with wholesalers.

Ah.. So there's no way to protect myself?

Guess I'd have to give this opportunity a miss
then..

Went to alibaba.com, found a gold supplier, and took
the plunge; hope I get lucky -_-;;

Don't use western union and similar services if you don't know the person who you are sending the money to. They are ment for family members, friends to quickly exchange money. They offer no protection whatsoever and most scammers use them so stay on the watch.

I think my money is gone.

I did use WU; I knew it was really risky, but weighed the
pros and cons, and decided it was worth a try.

If it works: A $260 Blackberry Bold for myself, and an amazing
source of mobile phones to import to my country which
will no doubt result in a at least 4-figure business.

If it fails: $260 down the drain.

Funny why I made the stupid mistake of not doing the simple
"business name, scams" to check out what people are saying
about it.

Search results: Quite afew. So I'm quite sure my money is gone.

Still, the optimistic side of me wants to believe that the posts
calling this source fraud are merely competitors who want to
soil their reputation.

The pragmatic business-person in me tells me the money is
gone, but lesson learnt.

Will update this thread; the thought process could be helpful
to anyone who could be interested in buying from wholesalers.

Anyone has any insights to share?

I would be keen to hear..
