    hi folks,

we are running a ecommerce site. the domain was purchased 2years ago and the new site launched officially in april 09.

we did some postings in forums and were slowly building links with some pr 4/5/3 sites.

over the past two weeks we purchased bookmarking service - they posted to 150 social sites.

last week we purchased xrumer service (150k entries).

before we started, we were ranked ok (page 2 on google with some highly competitive keywords close to 1 million) and had 250 backlinks only on yahoo. pr on google is 3 and under 600.000 in alexa.

now, yahoo gives us 800 backlinks - now the fun starts, almost any of my pages is listed in top 100 in google. what could have caused this? is google just dancing again? do i have to be patient to see my results back? is my site sandboxed?

please let me know what you think!

    best,
    d

may be your website is sandboxed and the only possible reason i can figure out is your using xrumer having used a social bookmarking service that submitted to about 150 places. i think that could have caused some conflict (there are some sites that don't like you bookmark even twice in a short span of time; and as per what you wrote your site might have gotten bookmarked twice on the same social bookmarking site- once by the service provider and by xrumer thereafter). may be your description while bookmarking was same both times (people shout spam-i have had that problem once and that caused in decreasing the no. of backlinks as some got removed automatically)....no need to worry, wait and make sure you bombard bookmarking sites...it's good to have your site but not like this much......
Suggestion: more than spamming bookmarking sites, try to do that with forums (but be smart enough to use proxies, i am 110% sure you'll reap good rewards) and last but not the least use your xrumer to play with some article directories and what!!! you'll be on the first page of g00gle but then again don't spam them....do whatever you please but don't overdo that in short spam of time....as when so much happens in so short time you are seen as a "SPAMM*R"...
One Last Advice: Instead of trying to hit one site in and out how would it be to hit 25-30 webites simultaneously (3 forums, 5 social bookmarking, 4 article directories and so forth)? You'll never be called spammer and your site will be where it should be GLOWING & SHINING all the way.
See, there are my suggestion as per what information you provided. There might have been some other things also going but it'd be too early to comment on those possibilities unless i know the scenario inside out.
Anyway, i request you "NOT" to hit on "thanks" button unless you have found something of help.
    Take Care, mate.

If you've been sandboxed (deindexed) I think that you won't come up in search results even if you type in your full domain name e.g. www.example.com
It looks more like you are being subjected to some shifting around in Google while it makes its mind up.

well, i dont think we got sandboxed either - we just lost some great positions and jumped from page 2 to page 10. but i am guessing this is normal for google? meaning that you jump back and after a few days you hit the better ranks, right?
the url is still indexed with 800 pages and all when i do site:www.url.com ....
