I want to start dropshipping, but I have no start up capital yet. I found a site called "ClickFunnels" that helps you set up a funnel site for products and network marketing. Problem is, they give you just a two week trial before payment. Using this method...would that be enough time to really try to see if it can work, or is that too quick?

I thought of using it with a CB product to get domain and Shopify funding, then build my store and let this build as a second income stream. Do you guys think it will work?

That is a tight window, but honestly it depends more on your audience. Are you confident you can bring traffic or are you just starting out with that as well?

Just starting out with that. I come from an old AM background that didn't work out. The site claims it helps you with marketing, and allows you to market, sell, and deliver your product. Supposedly, you don't need a website, shopping cart, autoresponder, or anything.

Obviously it is not impossible, but for a 2 week window that is asking a lot with so many moving parts. Do you have a place you were looking to start promoting? (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) I ask because some of these will take up more of your time than others.

Looking at promoting on Facebook and Twitter, but it will have to be slowly...especially since Facebook is cracking down a little on ads. My audience for this is cat owners...so it is rather large. Wanted to start a cat fan page, using some photos and some articles...then directing to funnel page for address collection and product offer. Can use list then to sell other products.

Why don't you try it and see?
Even if it doesn't work you will have learned something.

This is very good advice, @BloodHawke, you have nothing to lose and a ton to gain even if you make no money as education has tangible value.

True. My concern right now is that after the 2 week trial...this will be $97.00 a month, which I don't have right now. If I did, I could go ahead and start my Shopify store. And I didn't want to start this and then have to bail in two weeks because of lack of funds.

Cats, or pets in general for that matter, are easier to jump right in. If you have the tools for it, grab some funny cat videos from YouTube and re-edit them with some of the options available on this forum. If you make them unique enough and share them you can grow your audience with pets quickly. That being said, if you are looking for a real bare bones route, make some memes on imgflip. It is fast and they are shareable to post repeatedly.

On YouTube...is that the videos that they call "common" something here on the forum (I'll have to look that up again lol)? I'll also check out imgflip...thank you. Will also check out the video forums here and learn about editing. If I can get all of my ducks in a row first (videos, memes, fan page, etc.)...THEN I will go for the 2 week trial. Maybe I can hit the ground running.

It sounds like you aren't as well versed in YouTube but that is fine because that is more time consuming anyway. Memes are good because they can be created in under a minute, and they are easy to watermark as well.

Yes...I am downloading a meme maker to my phone right now. I think that will be better than YouTube for me right now. I am used to editing and working with photos. Used to create my own 3D artwork (fantasy). On my fanpage on FB... I can post these memes along with brief articles or personal posts, then eventually direct my followers to my funnel page/email collecter right?

Yes, that's correct. If you want to seem less promotional I would make a FB page related to your niche and have your necessary links on the side. The purpose of this is it allows you to post your memes to pet groups and not seem like you are trying to sell.

I'll start working on the memes and the fanpage, get all the codes I need for my product, then try and start that funnel system with e-mail collection. Hopefully I can get some traffic to the site pretty quickly.

So basically you can’t afford this.

Why not just start without the tool that you can’t afford - build your fb page, do some manual work to build likes / followers or whatever, then come back to the paid service when you have some money.

Otherwise you’re basically counting on earning $97 within the first two weeks so you can afford to subscribe - if you don’t make that you might feel disheartened.

So I definitely agree with the others - get stuck in and try this project, but don’t rely on that paid tool, you can make a success of it without that I’m sure.

Yes...basically that was it. I read Billy Bates thread about starting with free websites(sub-domains) if you had no money to start...I just didn't know if that would convert, though he said it would a little with a little more work.

I have an ebook that I can give away for e-mail addresses(with aff. link inside), and landing page content for it...plus some articles and the above mentioned memes I am making. If I can build at least something to START with out of all that...I can promote the hell out of it, along with a few more related products.

@BloodHawke I know it is kind of late for me to reply on this.
I was just wondering if you did try out this method. I am at the same stage where you were a year ago. Having some funds to start shopify, yet I have heard clikfunnels converts way better. What is your take on this?
