Need SEO expert to answer my question...

I really don't understand how SEO works within static and dynamic websites. By static, I mean sites that never change, sites that always have the same page, same description, same everything; by dynamic, quite obviously I?m talking about blog sites with constantly updated content.

Take for example the keyword ?washington computer repair?, according to Google it has around 3000 monthly searches. When I search for this keyword in Google, on the first position I find ?a1bestcomputer.com?, this is a static site, now tell me how does this website keep itself on first page with first position for its keyword when it?s only a static site?

How does SEO work on the two? Do you need a blog with constant content so that Google constantly crawls your site? Or as long as your are building backlinks, a static website will do just as good as a dynamic one in terms of SEO?

Anyone care to explain?

The home page and 2nd tier pages which contain the keywords you want to rank for remain static and the dynamic pages/posts you put on your 3rd tier and link back to 2nd and 1st tier in order to give juice ultimately to your home page.

dynamic back pages which contain posts is the best scenario as posts get indexed and picked up quickly driving traffic to the front page.

The more pages you have, the more pages are indexed and more traffic will be generated.

Its in your best interest to have not only washington computer repaid, but also, washington computer upgrade, washington computer parts, washington computer service, washinton computer fix, washinton computer replace.. etc etc etc which you would achieve in a post what links back to your main page.

Yeah it does, but is it really neccessary to have a dynamic page in order to keep the current position? In this example, "a1bestcomputer.com" is a company site, so what kind of dynamic content would it use? Because of the nature of the business, it can't offer dynamic content related to computer repairs otherwise it would probably lose quite a lot of customers. So is it possible to keep the top ranking position with just a static site while the competition has a dynamic one?

No its not neccessary. for very small niche keywords its alot easier to rank and maintain it, so a static will do.

some content that you can add to computer repair is perhaps a review of new parts that come out, or maybe comparing some parts against others. essentially anything that someone might ask or search for related to computer repairs. every dynamic post that is created, add more pages and more backlinks, and ultimately moves your site to what would be considered an authority site.

heres the thing. you mention that particular keyword getting 3000 monthly searches. Ive learned that 1. google is way off 2. you will see a small percentage of that even at top postition 3. a small percent will call you. 4 a small percent of that will do business with you.

so you will have to have hundreds of pages indexed for hundreds of keywords to dominate that niche and get a decent amt of business. and in my experience a blogging/dynamic platform is so much easier to manage and build than a static site. if all you want is a few keywords, than a static site will do just fine. if you want to get ranking for a lot of keywords, blogging/dynamic site is the way to go.
