Hi guys,

So i do have ecommerce store (wordpress). With a product of similar nature (8k+ products). They are basically textbooks with varying editions, authors.

Rather than creating a unique page with unique URL for each single product on the site ( which will result in many duplicate content for google, besides that it is difficult as hell to write unique 300 words for each product) I grouped the books according to the topic. So for example, I created category for Biology, in this page I listed all biology stuff with buy button next to each product.

What I did-

- Optimized the category home page by writing good relevant content
- used Product Schema for each product within each page
- Each category page has somewhere from 20 products up to 150 products
- For each product a unique identifier is assigned (ie: domain.com/biology/product#435 )

What you think guys about this approach? anything else i can do?

Your approach sounds solid grouping products by topic, optimizing category pages, and using product schema are great strategies. Just ensure you're focusing on internal linking and optimizing for long-tail keywords to improve discoverability further.

in my opinion, chatgpt could be best advisor about everything, when you will use good quality prompts and show to gpt that you have knowledge about specific topic, it will be best advisor ever on any possible topic

I think it is fine, but you should also have products pages. Of course there is a risk of thin content, but it is the same for all e-commerce sites. This will enable more internal linking, and more depth in your site overall.

Honestly should be fine, but yeah you should consider adding other things that will provide more internal linking throughout the site.
You don't want to keep all your eggs on the same basket (aka pages).

Grouped 8k+ textbook products by topic with optimized category pages, product schema, and unique anchors smart move, but is it enough for SEO scalability

I think that is fine. But yeah, don't forget other optimizations like adding internal links and such.

Smart approach for managing large catalogs consider adding filters, internal linking, and user reviews to boost relevance and UX!

Smart consolidation strategy great for avoiding duplicate content, but consider adding filters, canonical tags, and internal links to boost SEO and usability.

For SEO, internal linking within category pages to related products can enhance crawlability.

Instead of creating separate pages for each product variant (e.g., different editions or authors), consider aggregating them into a single product page with dynamic options. This reduces the number of pages with similar content and enhances user experience.
