Need Qualifications to Sell Diet Ebook?

I'm planning to launch a diet ebook that I've written myself. However, I'm concerned about legal implications that may arise from putting it out to the public as I do not have any dietitian/nutritionist qualifications.
Anybody have any experience with this?
Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm also planning to do something like that. If someone has experience with clickbank sale, please shed some light.
 
You need to write a disclaimer somewhere indicating that your are not a medical professional and that your book is not meant to replace medical advice. You could also state that anyone starting a diet plan should consult with their doctors first. You don't have to make it prominent, but something along those lines should be there so no one can come at you down the line. You might also state that every attempt has been made to be factually correct to the best of your knowledge. That could keep you from running into trouble because you stated something factually incorrect, but don't just outright lie, either.
 
Thanks. I have already put in some disclaimers I found in other diet ebooks. Hope that's enough to avoid any potential legal trouble.
 
I have bought few E-books last month from Amazon, As well honestly I'm also thinking to run E-book business. And that's why I wanted to collect information and see the quality. And I see most of them are non medical guys who are doing E-books for health niches.. So, you can do just write a clear disclaimers notes. And as you are going to do on Health niche, Please only share the good and real information ...I try to skip Health niche.
 
As other BlackHatters have said here, just put a disclaimer. I recently did a blog about that niche and just put a disclaimer that it was for research perposes only and not a medical advice blog, always seek professional advice etc
 
I'm writing an eBook containing health advice. I have to point out that I have personal experience dealing with this issue and so I fee I'm qualified enough to tell people how to solve their problem for way less than what they're paying doctors.

That being said, I do have a disclaimer displayed prominently on the second page of my eBook. It's bold and in like size 16 font. If people skip over that, that's their problem, not mine. The point is it's there. They can sue me if they want but they're not going to get much of anything except an empty cereal box and some cat hair.

After reading this I've decided to trash the project. I'm so sure people give out/sell health advice (and other advice) without squat for qualifications. A disclaimer should be good enough. However I'm not going to risk it.

Good thing that's not the only eBook I was working on. I'll stick to other niches, thanks.
 
Nah man just don't put some crazy shit that will kill ppl and you will be good to go :D why do you need any qualifications, half of the "fitness trainers" out there have been training for no less than 6 months hahaha :D
