In Tier1 I always use a (cadaver site) which will itself be used for the PBN
Backlinks will all point to the cadaver site which will itself point to the money site
I do it in the same way as money site so not another step in the buyer journey
it makes 2 sites rank well in SEO and if ever there are penalties I lose only one

First time I've heard the term 'cadaver site'! Expired domain perhaps?
