[Need Opinions] Which Navigation Layout would you prefer?

I'm building a website in an educational niche. Basically we have university pastpapers and exams. Different tests to test students.

Which design would you prefer? I can change the layout etc. but I can't change the menu design. So which one would you see?

My personal favourite is the first one.

I prefer the first one too. It seems to be the most intuitive.

Considering the fact that it will be in the education niche, I would go for #2 or #3. I feel that among the different themes, these are the ones that most have "the look" of an edu service provider site.

I agree that #1 looks good, but to me I get the feeling like I am on a lifestyle blog. For #4, a lot of wordpress blogs have this kind of sidebar setup, so I would avoid it too, as it might come across as a less professional setup.

I really like the first one, but I don't It really fits the educational niche. You should be looking for something more simple and clean.

I prefer the first one by far. and I think the layout would suit your niche as well - its more expansive and informative than the other menus.
