Hello,

Would the following strategy give good results?
Lets say I create a WP plugin that would be useful for adult wp blogs, make it available for free, but ask plugin users to have a link to my site in order to use the plugin.
Is that considered as white hat SEO?

What good would that make for my site ranking? If my plugin is fairly useful, would this thing work?

Is something like this already available? It could probably be used on Joomla, as well. Same is true for all opensource CMS-es.

Yes this type of linkbait would work well, if you had enough websites using the plugin you would get a ton of on topic backlinks.

Porn webmasters aren't going to link to you just by you asking, or saying it is a condition of using the plugin...force the them to link to you in the code, hardcode something into the widget etc

yes, i thought about that, as well... it's not a favorite option - i remember myself often removing the hardcoded links :)

one more questions arises, though: what about hidden links? i know that webmaster will find them, anyway, but maybe some of them won't, or won't mind, for that matter.
however, hidden links probably don't have as much value as those that are displayed, right?

cheers for answers guys
