I basically need someone to code me a bot that would remove a few characters (12 characters) from each line in notepad and hit an enter button

    Example:

Hi whats up Aug 30, 2012
Nothing much how about you? Aug 31, 2012

    Into

    Hi whats up

    Nothing much how about you?

You can do this so easily with Notepad++ just record a macro and run it to the end of the file.

can't you just hit ctrl+f for pc or cmd+f on mac and just replace the date with a space? I've done this a few times with no issues.

You'll need notepad2 (recommended), notepad++, scite, etc -> find and replace -> check regular expression -> Aug.*$ -> leave blank the other field (you're gonna replace the string with a big fat nothing...). Change Aug to Jul to Jun / whatever the beginning of the string you want to delete up to the end of the line. Easy peasy.

Just download editplus & use search and replace.

In the replace dialog, select the "Regular Expression" and in the "Find What" "...........\n" and click replace all. each period represents a character, so n periods to remove n characters.

Nice one, didn't knew NP++ could do that (".........2012" worked for me). I always used the regex part of zennoposter for these things lol!

You can pay someone to write you a bot, or you can listen to what this man is saying, save yourself money, time and learn some invaluable functions on Excel.

You can split the atom with Excel, you just have to know how to use it.
