Need member pictures / thumbnails

1st of all HI...my first post here and I'm happy about it

I wasn't sure if this would go into the Black or white hat:

# I am building a adult dating site and I was wondering how to get thumbnails, members pictures that are royalty free???

I keep running into those sites that just start up and have all those fake member pictures, how do they do that?

Can someone please point me to right direction?!

Try a royalty free stock image site. Do a search on Google. However, you need to ensure that the original owner of the pics a) doesn't care how you use the photo or b) is aware of your intended use. You are most likely going to run into problems because many photographers who sell or give away their stock do not want their work associated with the adult industry. I would assume that you are going to have to fork over some cash in order to obtain the pics that you are looking for.

Wheel I'm building the same thing. Couldn't find any so i finally made a simple Hot*or*Not picture scraper. I filtered the good looking girls and cropped them to from random sizes to 150x200px. If you aren't afraid of copyright issues I can upload them for you. I have 750 filtered for now (size 25MB)

I actually am worried about copyright issues in fact.

I still wonder where these guys are getting their member images, there must be a free or one-time fee database. I would hate to have to buy stock images then have to crop everything one by one + it would not be cheap (and that's not allowed by my religion )

Cropping the images won't save you from copyright infringement, libel, character defamation, or any other legal quagmire. One person sees their pic or someone they know on your site, and you're toast.

From what I hear, adult stuff is very profitable. If you're going to put time and money into your site, why not just add some photography rights into your budget. You could also offer new members of your site some incentive for adding their photo (or even 2 photos) within 48 hours of signing up, or something like that.

Black hat is not synonymous with breaking all the laws.
