Need Link Building Suggestions

Hello everybody,

To help you guys better assist me I am going to give you a brief overview of myself and what I am attempting to do.

I am a division 1 college basketball player in the USA finishing up and about to enter the professional basketball world within the next 2-3 months. I am attempting to build up my brand and my internet presence in the next couple before agents start googling me and checking my social media accounts.

I have been surfacing BHW and noticed a lot of great link building services some more expensive than others. I just need some direction on which service to use. As of right now I have registered on serplogic, I have spoken to prwhirldwind for press releases. I am looking to not only to increase my internet presence with high quality articles but also articles worthy enough to assist with social media verification I am unsure if some of these press releases will assist with that.

If somebody can guide me in the right direction here so I can spend my money wisely, I will greatly appreciate it.

I do not have a Wikipedia page but I do have other articles that can verify who I am.

I guess a good start to this whole thing would be to purchase a Wikipedia page first?

If you are going to be a professional sportsman, these types of things are essential, especially in terms of organic search.

Awesome, I am open to following instructions so I can spend my money in the right things. That's why I opened this thread so I appreciate you jumping in here.

Please do your own due diligence with any service you are interested in.
Another option is post a Hire A Freelancer or Want To Buy, but keep in mind only upgraded members can offer services.

This is actually a good time to start as you are nearing the midpoint of the collegiate season.

It gives you enough time to build your brand before the summer when combines / tryouts begin with pro teams
( are you planning to play overseas?)

A good start is also getting your tapes together. Hire someone online who can put together a good scouting tape for you. Perhaps your athletic dept has someone who can do it free. Otherwise, you can find someone who can do that relatively cheap. Don't just have one, have several.

From there I would have them posted online, and then get some social signals.

Press release is good as well as articles about you and your impact in games. Not just for links but mainly for exposure. Again share these across social media platforms.

If you decide to go to combines where a lot of pro teams attend you will have something to present to them. Before you even attend they will be able to see your skill sets, articles on various skills, contributions during games, evolution as a player etc.....

In terms of verification (blue tick) on instagram and such it may be a bit difficult but many collegiate athletes have them. So it should be doable.

If I had to do it all over I would also have a blog. Which is not necessary, but could have been fun to see how you prepare, practice, and the journey from div 1 to the pros.

There's many different ways to do it. I would focus your campaign on Your skills and talents.

I am planning on entering the NBA draft after these next 3 months to test the waters but will most likely end up overseas depending on how strong I finish this season and other aspects. As of right now, I have a lot of game film and doing a solid job on developing organic traffic on my facebook/ig. My next steps will probably be
1. Wikipedia creation
2. HQ press releases
3. Possible purchase of full featured article maybe on Forbes


I am unsure of what social signals are, and I currently don't have a personal website either. It's vital that when people search my name on to google that they see the right things and that's where I am trying to get it organized.

Glad to help.
Since you're planning on testing the waters for the league or overseas, content should not necessarily be a problem for you.

You should be able to get articles, and media about yourself, the team and your contributions from local media, school media, newspapers etc....You're sitting on a goldmine of content already curated for you. You just have to have the right campaign. Share all the content you can get on social media and get a lot of shares. There are vendors here who have strong social shares included with their packages.

A campaign like yours for more exposure would maybe involve having your name associated with the draft. any campaign should include your contributions, awards, All-team nominations etc....with, for instance, **YOUR NAME** NBA Draft 2019, **YOUR NAME** NBA DRAFT First Round, **YOUR NAME** Second Round and so forth. These are just off the top of my head. Some of the pros here would be able to explain how they would go about it better.

You have a lot of different options before to gain some serious traction before the conference tournaments to get your name out there. As MisterF said just be careful.

With the content you should be able to get on yourself you should have a fun time with this.

Content is not a problem for sure I have a lot of current tape and will have a ton of tape at the end of this year. I probably should order some high quality press releases before I fund a wikiepdia creation huh?

Let's rock and roll , May ask for free quote we also need strong references and press releases for making wikipedia page

I've no experience on this, but I'd buy posts from other blogs/magazines that'll mention you.
