Need life advise

Hello guys
So I need your help. I don't know what to do at the moment

I'm 23 years old and from germany. In summer 2018 I started studying economics but I was never shure if its the right thing. So I got the results of one exam I took and I failed. I probably failed the other two courses too.

Now I don't know if I should go on and take the clases again, eventhough none of them were realy interesting for me, or if I should look for something else.

I want to do something with marketing and advertisement in my life, and there is the option to go to a private college and study marketing. But I'm not sure if it is the right thing because it costs alot of money and "I am so specialized" then. With the economics degree I could do much more.

But I am geting 24 this year. And have nothing in my hands right now. I don't want to waste any more time in my life. And want to work and earn some money.

Any advise or help?

Hey, I‘m also from Germany. You mean BWL? Any chance to get into cooperative study programs? (duales Studium) You could already earn some money and study at the same time.

Do you have parents willing to help you and support you if you fail again? If your parents can let you live with them and feed you, I would recommend going to school and also starting some website about a topic you are interested in. Soccer, hot girls, video games, anything that interests you. And spend few minutes a day working on 1 website, and going to school and focusing on your studies.

Yes, I mean BWL.
Well the private college has a cooperative study program for marketing. And with that the company would cover the college fees...

Well, yes I can live at my moms house as long as I want, because she is alone. But on the other side I dont want to. I dont want to live with my mom until I'm 26

I am 33 years old and I can understand you don't want to live there, but when you are also 33 years old if you are still coming to blackhatworld forums unsure of your life path or unhappy with your life, you will regret not living with your mother when you were 26 working on a website and going to school. Take advantage of this time now where you can try different projects and treat your mother good so you can stay there. If you are not good at schooling, try to find some easier courses even if it's not in your preferred degree. I don't know about Germany, but in North America ANY degree or Diploma is better than none. Lots of jobs have a requirement to have some formal university education even if it's unrelated to the job tasks.

I guess you're right. Its just a shitty feeling if you don't have a clue what to do in your life, while my friends are getting their degree in a few month....

@OP - try to find joy in whatever it is that you do or will do. Personally I would look at studies, since I think it is easier to study when you're below your 30's and get a job afterwards. But, its all up to you. The world is a big place, with a big variety of big chances. Its up to you to take them, or leave them be.

I suggest you refer to something like TRP and Rollo's Tomassi stuff, It helps you become your point of origin plus YouTube channel like The Infinite Man Summit and Entrepreneurs in Cars gives you some real life money tips. I suggest you start with an Agency, Local SEO or Lead Generation, something that can get you an understanding of how the system works and get your money. Making a SAAS is an amazing way to get passive income but it requires a shit ton of work.

Here is what you should do:
Learn more about yourself
Make an Agency or a SAAS
Move into real estate because its a passive income

So my plan is to continue with college. I have the oportunity to get into the next "year" and take the clases AND take the classes that I've failed again at the same time. This will be very time consuming but its probably the best idea.

Besides that I will try to get my marketing game up a bit. Maybe create a website and offer people my service (with almost 0 knowledge, only from books and yt videos

).

A degree has never made a great employee of anyone, let alone entrepreneur.

Do not get fooled by the rules the "modern" society works. You do not need degree to be successful. Actually spending too much time in brain-washing & creativity killing University schooling system may block your way for any truly interesting life paths forever.

Don't follow a certain way of life just because your friends, or most people, follow it. If you do not like the courses, I can't see a point in continuing taking them.

I know what you mean, but it always depends on the country. In europe I have to say i think its complete bullshit. Ofcourse the most important thing is the "paper" you have in the end. But you DO learn alot about the topic. If you're not some genius you can't now these things and probably won't understand them. And most people who do not have a degree fail. People who get wealthy without a degree are very lucky or very smart. Or both.

The school can teach you the discipline of learning information, it doesn't prepare you to jump into doing business as soon as you get off from the university. I know for a fact that lots of marketing books are so outdated and the real marketing where the things happen and the world emerges very fast and very abruptly, digital marketing, it's not that common to learn that in school and to be accurate also. Who will teach you about the latest Google algorithm added some new variables for ranking higher your website or it just deleted some old ones? Or that Instagram lowered their actions per day for an account and they are more sensitive to botting? Fb ads, Google ads you will learn this mostly working on companies or from online courses. I would do the university but I will start doing online business as well. Start and fail and keep getting better next time. Double verify what you learn in school with authority blogs that have the same specialization and keeps up to date their content.

You telling me? I'm pretty much self-taught in all spectrums within IM. Hell, less than a decade ago I was homeless sleeping outside in the winter but that's not the point.

It's about papers, and having some solid papers in economics can't hurt to fall back on if IM fails, or any kind of plan B because more people fail in IM than succeed, better be prepared!

Well, that's a kind of strong will to overcome those conditions you got through. Hat off to you mister, I know it's a hell of a story you have there!

Yes, you are right some people it might not get the IM right and you need to do something in the end. Myself if I would be in his position, I will ask around in marketing agencies to work for free (I did that online @7-8 years ago and it worked good in the end) and if your parents can bear with you 1 or 2 more years. Go there, outwork everyone, learn as much as you can since you are young and you get the knowledge very fast and be of help to everyone you can help. Choose an agency that has some high standards and you will gain so much valuable experience. My 2 cents.
