Guys, I need laptop Suggestions for me and my father for this black friday. Let me know of any good deals present.

Laptop 1
Softwares Usually Used : SQL, Minitab, Tableau, JMP
14 inch screen
8GB RAM
SSD Preferably

Laptop 2
Softwares Usually Used : Solid works, Creo, all Mechanical stuffs
15.6 inch screen
16GB/8GB RAM
Good graphic to run the softwares
SSD Preferably

I would stay away from anything Lenovo - I bought one earlier this year that had great performance overall, but a battery that drained fast even with one browser window open.
 
I picked up a cheap HP i3 laptop for £60 on eBay for the misses. I took the hard drive out of that (now using that as a spare) whilst I put her previous Core2Duo laptop's SSD into the HP. I'd never buy new again

This, except drop the t470. With the t480 and above, Lenovo is using the newer quad core Intel U-series CPUs which dominate the previous generation's dual core offerings.
 
You should aim for 16GB RAM minimum in both laptops... nowadays things have gone weird. My system currently hogs even with 18GB RAM especially while testing and botting or using VMs...
 
Laptop sucks, Go for custom desktop. If you only want a laptop, go with at least 16 GB ram with the latest graphic card.
 
Looking for a new laptop too actually. Couldn't see the link for the dell, didn't work. Following this thread :)
 
lenovo thinkpad / preferably the carbon series!!!!
